Teach Your Kids The Ways To Go Green
All parents want to instill good habits in their kids. They work on every thing from their manners to their confidence. Then why not try to inculcate eco-friendly habits in your children?

Kids are very receptive so it is important as well as easy to infuse healthy habits, during the childhood itself. Remember that you cannot teach something or instill any habit overnight. So it's better to pull your socks right from the very beginning.

Fun ways to invoke green habits in your kids
Each one plant one

Take resolution that you will plant a tree on each festival, any happy occasion or an event of grandeur in your life. Start from your kid's birthday. Automatically, he will pick up the habit of planting a tree on each of his birthdays. Involve them while working in your garden so that they feel close to the nature.

Remember the mantra: Go green by cycling and recycling
Let your kids travel to their school by a cycle. It will be beneficial for them, their fitness as well as for the environment. In extreme cases, like if the distance is much or there is some other problem, always opt for a bus or carpool. Hence, they would not only learn how to save money but also add towards reduction of pollution.

Today, the kids are smart enough to know that they need to throw the garbage in the dustbin. It's time to teach them that their duty doesn't end there. Hence, teach them the concept of recycling. Even let them discover the different ways of re-using the waste material.

Make living green, a lifestyle by choice
Furnish their room with eco-friendly and environmentally safe products. Let them fantasize every possible thing to be green and eco-friendly. The habits that they will develop at this stage will last for a lifetime.

Green schooling
Look for greener options of stationary i.e. recycled pencils, paper, Non-PVC bags and lunch boxes. This habit will be of great help in reaffirming the Green school supplies and will also help them understand the significance of recycling.

Make them use only what is needed
Educate them to use water, electricity and paper judiciously. Also, ask them to reduce the consumption of their household products like shampoo, toothbrush, body wash and soaps, and alike every time they use them.

Play eco-friendly
Let them cuddle eco-friendly toys. Prefer stuffed toys made of organic cotton or get them natural wood toys. Make sure that the dyes used are either water based or organic. The paint used should be lead free. Choose wooden blocks rather than plastic ones.
